Unfortunately, this is where we are…
Business and school presentations have become so bad that audiences have lost hope.
No longer are audiences attending presentations optimistically thinking, “Maybe this will be a good one.”
They are going into presentations wondering, “Could this one possibly be worse than the last?”
It’s time to make presentations great again!
Here’s what you can do to make your next presentation great:
Stop writing out your script
You’re wasting your time.
Write out your script and you’re setting yourself up to fail.
Writing it out and then trying to memorize it is a tough call.
Forget the cue cards
Don’t like looking at your audience? Need a security blanket? Cue cards are for you.
Ditch the crappy slides
No one wants to read your bullet points.
No one wants you to read your bullet points to them.
No one wants to be awed by that PowerPoint template you bought online.
Open your presentation with a bang
Audiences know what to expect… you’re going to be boring!
If you want your audience to sit up and pay attention you need to catch them as soon as you step on stage.
Stop listening to traditional advice
The reason we’re here, being bombarded by crappy presentations everyday, is because of traditional thinking.
Think about all those things “you know” about presentations and quickly forget them all.
Put yourself in the position of the audience
Ever been bored in a presentation?
If you answered “no” you’re lying to yourself.
